The museum collects and preserves objects and archives that document Cayuga County's past. The Case Research Lab Museum documents the invention of sound film. Theodore Case built the Research Lab in 1916 on the foundation of the estate greenhouse. The first commercially successful method of recording sound film was developed here.
Regular admission to the museum is free, donations are gratefully accepted.
