The Kawkiutl Totem Pole was donated by the indian people of British Columbia to commemorate the centenary of the union of BC with Canada. This pole is found on the legislature grounds in Edmonton, Alberta.

Donated by the Native Indian peolpe of British Columbia to commemorate the centenary of the union, July 20, 1871 of the Province of British Columbia with Canada.

This pole was carved at Victoria, British Columbia by Oscar Matilpi of the Turnour Island Indian Band.

This pole was a project of the First Citizens Fund and the British Columbia Centenial '71 Committee.
