I cannot rave enough about this wonderful little cafe located in the Merlino Art Center in Tacoma, WA. Great coffee and food and even better atmosphere.

This coffee shop is filled with art and atmosphere and the coffee is wonderful. The walls are painted a bright colors and large paintings by local artists cover the walls. In the front part of the cafe there are four computer stations, free of charge, and there is also free wi-fi for customers.
Our favorite part is the back lounge area. Be sure to wander back there and check out the comfy couches, armchairs, dining room table and even a piano and guitar. Local jazz bands often practice there on weekends or in the evenings and use the piano in the back.
There are a number of board games under the coffee table if you like games, or just kick back and relax and listen to the music.
Also of note, the place is very dog friendly. Small well behaved dogs are welcome inside at the tables and out in front of the cafe there are two adirondack chairs and a large water bowl for the larger four-legged friends and their humans.
The shop is located in the Merlino Art Center, originally a Odd Fellows Temple. The building now holds a small theater featuring indie movies, 2 art galleries, and an incredible bakery. Above the ground level many artists rent space for studios. All in all it's a very artsy atmosphere and a fun place to spend time.
