The 250 mm. German Minenwerfer Howitzer  was technically more of a mortar than a howitzer.  The gun had a maximum range of 2.6 kilometers and a rate of fire of 200 rounds per hour.  The weight of each shell was 92 kilos.  For more information on the Minenwerfer Howitzer see the following website.

The particular 250 mm. German Minenwerfer Howitzer was captured by American forces during World War I at St. Mihiel, France on September 16. 1918.  It was presented to the City of Two Harbors by the Oscar Anderson Post No. 109, The American Legion, September 1929
