The River Valley Aviary is a two-story netting enclosure that covers 9,000 feet and allows birds like the yellow-billed stork, white-bellied bustard, lesser flamingo, and turacao River Valley of East Africa to fly about freely. Because the enclosure is made of netting material that's open to the sky, you can use your GPS unit to get a reading while standing at the waterfall.
A sign in the aviary states that the waterfall and botanical collection was a gift of Mary and Bruce Bower. The man-made waterfall simulates a real waterfall that you might see in the River Valley of Africa.
