Zion Cemetery - Silvana, WA - Churchyard Cemeteries on Waymarking.com

Zion Cemetery is maintained by Peace Lutheran. The church building was renamed "Little White Church on the Hill" when it became a place of Historical Significance. The congregation has built a new, modern church in town but still maintain the cemetery, and meet at the church for a couple of months in the summer.

Near the church there were two markers that immediately caught my attention. Herman A. Rod 1892-1937 and Gertrude A. Rod 1897-1980, I did some math and realized that Herman passed when he was 55 years old, and Gertrude waited 43 years later to be joined with him in heaven. I reflected on her dedication and love for husband, that she would wait for him for so long.
