In 1823, two years after Florida was acquired by the United States, leaders of the Seminole and Miccosukee Tribes met with government officials near the center of Treaty Park. After twelve days of negotiation, they signed the treaty of Moultrie Creek on September 18, 1823. A marker recognizing the treaty signing is located in the center of the park.
This is a great all around park. It has a playground for small children, baseball/softball fields, soccer field, tennis courts, basketball courts, handball/racquetball courts, a fishing lake, hiking trails (with caches), a big skate park, a dog park, and picnic pavillion with fireplaces. This park is great for school field trips or just family fun. It also has sidewalks that the children can ride scooters or bikes on. A beautiful place to spend the day.
