During the heyday of Route 66, through out the Oklahoma area one could find old barns and buildings with hand stenciled advertising about the Meramec Caverns, the world’s largest single cave formation, stretching for twenty six miles of underground passage ways and caverns. The cave reaches seven stories high and is one of the most outstanding cave experiences in the world.
Nowadays they are few and far between.
