This is the sole survivor of 5 circus themed statues by the sculptor Montyne. They were commissioned by Jay Sarno, the original owner of Circus Circus in 1967. The statues adorned the front of Circus Circus for over 40 years. They included Gargantua the Gorilla, a high wire performer, a trapeze artist and an acrobat. The four were removed and buried in a landfill in 2006.
