Visitors to the planetarium will enjoy a voyage to the past. A 15-minute presentation in the planetarium allows visitors to see the stars as they would have appeared to Ponce de Leon on his voyage to the New World, specifically how the stars would have appeared on the night before he came ashore on the continent of North America on April 3, 1513, and discovered the New World.

The planetarium presentation shows how ancient mariners used the constellations and other celestial bodies to navigate from the Old World to the New World. In addition, reference instruments used for celestial navigation and life aboard a Spanish galleon are on display in the planetarium lobby.
