The water tower in IJmuiden has been designed and constructed in 1915.
The tower stands to the Dokweg in the port area of IJmuiden. The tower had been meant for the port and provide the fishermen with IJmuiden of sufficient water.
The tower has eight feet, a height of 24.25 metres and a cover of 600 of water.
In the nineties the tower is out of use. In 2002 Ben Vermeer developer bought the tower for 375,000 guilders. Currently, the tower is a national monument. The renovation and restoration of the lower portion of the tower was completed in 2004.
