The Badlands Wilderness Study Area is located about 12 miles east southeast of Bend, Oregon. The study area includes 32,321 acres of Bureau of Land Management lands and about 50 miles of trails along former double track roads. The Badlands includes a wide variety of basaltic landforms and juniper forest. The trace of Dry River also passes through the study area.
