The listed coordinates are for the "center" of the park. It is a roundabout where you can drop off items from your car if you are picnicking. NO DOGS NO BOOZE ALLOWED!!!!
This is a dynamite and dynamic park. The trails are steep as heck and you'll get winded going after the many caches hid here. There are more accommodations than one would usually find at a park. The rest rooms are phenomenal which is why I have no problem bringing my children here. There are some really neat stone barbecues and enough picnic benches for two full baseball teams. My favorite aspect of the park is a huge rock outcropping in back of Michael's Foot Bridge which spans the Pennypack Creek. Have fun!
From the Park Website: "This 250 acre oasis of woods and meadows, in the suburbs of eastern Abington Township, attracts visitors to its natural beauty year-round. A bequest from the late George Horace Lorimer (former Editor-in-Chief of The Saturday Evening Post), Lorimer Park is a haven for wildlife under a canopy of huge trees. Activities include hiking, picnicking, bird and animal watching, horseback riding, and, in the winter, sledding and cross-country skiing. For the angler, Pennypack Creek is stocked, in-season, with trout by the PA Fish & Boat Commission. Overlooking the creek is majestic Council Rock where, legend says, Native Americans use to meet to plan their activities. It now serves as a beautiful and popular backdrop for wedding photographs. "
