Nebraska has a well known boot hill at Ogallala. This relatively unknown boot hill is down a minimum maintenance road south of the tiny village of Lowell.

The marker, a large cement boot mounted on a stone slab, is in a fenced enclosure. One side of the stone tells the story.

It was placed in 1976 as a bicentennial project by a group simply identified as the Alumni Association. I think this is the Lowell High School alumni group , who also sponsored the state historical marker in Lowell.

The hill is a short hike west of the marker. There's a fine view from the top. And there's a geocache in the vicinity.
