For any student of history and the Vietnam War, a visit to Saigon has to include a tour of the tunnels of Cu Chi. It is fascinating to learn how the people lived and survived in these underground cities while the war raged above them. And then, in the middle of the jungle and directly above one of the tunnels, sits an American tank that was disabled by a land mine. It still sits where it ground to a halt over 30 years ago.
Location restrictions: There is an entry fee to visit the tunnels and view the booby traps that have been exposed for the purpose of the tours. Paths are clear and each group of tourists is escorted by a guide.
