Date Marker Erected: 1998.
County of Marker: Carroll County.
Location of Marker: N. Mason St. (Old US-24), Carroll County Historical Society Lawn, Carrollton.

Marker Text:

Trail of Death

On Oct. 24, 1838 about 800 Potawatomi Indians camped near Carrollton on forced emigration from Indiana to Kansas. Cold was intense on the prairie.
