This stamp commemorates 150 years of the Zagreb Archbishopric. On December 11, 1852 Pope Pius IX elevated the Zagreb Bishopric to the rank of archbishopric with his papal bulla Ubi primum placuit. At the same time he also proclaimed the Zagreb archbishopric to be the Metropolitan see of the Croatian and Slavonian provinces, with the suffragan bishoprics in Senj, Djakovo and Krizevci. The stamp shows Zagreb Cathedral.
