The Main Street Bridge, a 120' steel truss, is one of a dozen truss bridges spanning the Missisquoi River. It was built after the 1927 flood wiped out the 1881 iron bridge, which crashed into and destroyed a barn almost a half mile downstream.
In the spring of 2008, a temporary bridge was constructed less than 100 yards upstream (visible in the background of the default picture), so that this bridge could be restored.
The bridge was usable again by December;
the clock was not put back into place in the arch until May '09.
