On October 12th 2000 terrorists attacked on the USS Cole as she was refueling. A small boat full of explosives caused a 40 by 60 hole in the hull of the ship and the loss of 17 brave sailors lives. The suicide attack cause the Cole to have to be returned home aboard the Norwegian heavy lift ship SS. Blue Marlin, on October 31st of that year. The link below is the Cole's official website.
