This magnificent Queen Anne Historic Victorian styled house is located in an almost dead Texas Ghost Town.

I found this jewel by accident after a hard day of photographing other waymarks on a hot July afternoon. I was headed to a motel when I saw it right beside the small Texas road.

It it’s a Texas Historic Landmark and is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places 1980.

The Texas Historic Plaque reads:
HADEN HOUSE “Built 1894 by craftsmen Martin and Krause for local merchant, J. B. Haden, and wife Elizabeth. Remained in Haden Family until 1963.
Cypress construction with ornate Gingerbread trim. Interior had fine woodwork. Late Victorian Architecture.” (Recorded Texas Historic Landmark 1966).
