This simple but elegant monument is located in front of the Muskingum County, Ohio Courthouse in Zanesville. It features a full color representation (in relief) of the Purple Heart.
The monument is "Dedicated to All Men and Women Wounded in All Our Wars." The poem reads:
My stone is red
For the blood they shed.
The medal I bear
Is my country's way to show they care.
If I could be seen by all mankind
Maybe peace will come in my lifetime.
Erected by American Legion Post #29, Aux., & S.A.L.
