Charlotte County Airport (PGD) is located on Southwest Florida's Gulf Coast in Punta Gorda, Florida, halfway between Sarasota and Ft. Myers and a short plane ride from Tampa, Orlando and Miami. The Airport and the adjoining Commerce Park are just minutes from the nearest cities, hotels, restaurants and entertainment. The Skyview Cafe, which is now open under new management is located on the field and serves breakfast, lunch and a Friday night fish fry. Located within 3 miles of the airport are three major highways, I-75, US 41 and US 17.
The Charlotte County Airport which is located within a Foreign Trade Zone, is one of the finest and well maintained airports in the State of Florida. A World War II Army Training Field in 1942, the airport consists of three runways which can accommodate private and commercial aircraft.
Although 2004 brought us Hurricane Charley which dealt us a hard blow, it also gave us the opportunity to rebuild and prepare for commercial airline service.
For a short time, SkyBus was the airport's first and only commercial flyer.
Charlotte County Fire/EMS protects the airport and surrounding area at Station 7 with specialized apparatus to handle all airport disaster conditions.
