This off-leash dog area is within Creekside Park in Dana Point, CA. The park is so-named because it is adjacent to the San Juan Creek flood control channel bike trail. This trail begins in San Juan Capistrano and ends at the beach in Dana Point. There are at least three parks along the trail. The first one is in San Juan Capistrano and is adjacent to Creekside Park. The third is immediately after Creekside and across the street.
The dog area in Creekside is just behind the children's playground. There is a smaller fenced area which can be used for small dogs but it is not designated as such and is usually left open to all dogs.
