The Old Seed House Garden is the jewel of Georgetown. The park is run by volunteers and is built on the ruins of the Dominion Seed company (which moved to Quebec several years ago).
Recently, 12 plots were set aside (and fenced off) for the purpose of a community garden. This is new as of July 2008. The rest of the park is undergoing an expansion that will make it a "regional destination".
There is a medium sized public garden near here that you should take the time to wander through.
Location: Old Seed House Garden, north portion of the parking lot.
