I am the Star Spangled Banner....conceived in 1777 out of the love America bore for Liberty and Honor.

I am the Memorial of countless heros who shed their blood to preserve this sacred heritage.

I have inspired generations of gallant men who fought against tyranny.

I am the spirit of Valley Forge....of sacrifice....of courage.

I have guarded every rampart where Freedom defended its glorious cause....

Tripole...Belleau Woods...Argonne Forest...Omaha Beach...Anzio...Bastogne...Guadacanal...Coral Sea...Leyte Gulf...Iwo Jima...Korea...Viet Nam...Persian Gulf.

I fly wherever Americans give their lives to preserve the sanctity of life.

Type of Memorial: Non-Specific Memorial In Honor Of: Who Served To preserve, Protect and Defend Our Nations Principles of Democracy, Liberty and Justice. Marker Text: see above. Date of dedication: June 2, 2007 Who Put it Here?: The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rolla V.F.W. Post 2025, Edgar Springs V.F.W. Post 9470, St. James V.F.W. Post 5608; The American Legion, Rolla Legion Post 270, St. James Legion Post 607 Description of Memorial: A traffic circle into and around the front of the new court house. At the front is a bricked in garden. Rising from the garden ar two brick chimney stub columns, each holding one end of a marble slab, upon which is inscribed the dedication and on the rear of which is mounted a bronze plaque about Old Glory. The old court house is right next door, and is now owned by the Phelps County Historical Society. The rent it as law offices, to earn income to help restore the place. A large Civil War Marker is on the old courthouse lawn. Interesting place. Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): Not listed
