The City of Delano WWTP was originally constructed in 1979, It is currently undergoing an upgrade. The original process was a trickling filter system with primary and secondary clarifiers. The solids are digested anaerobically and de-watered using a centrifuge.

The upgrade will use an oxidation ditch for treatment. The existing primary and secondary clarifiers will be rehabilitated and expanded.
