Description of Memorial:

Made of Missouri Pink Granite. Sets to the left as you approach the court house, and as you enter you will see two thick granite obelisks. The one on the left is for World War I and on the right for World War II. Both have a dedication on the front, and a list of Those Who Fell on the back.

Just behind these columns are two walls of pink granite resting upon narrow brick foundations. The wall on the left is mostly blank, with one corner used to show the casualties from the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

The wall on the right displays the history of Reynolds county.

This very small county seat was once wiped out by the Three State Tornado of 1925. Tornado lasted so long it traveled through Missouri, completely across Illinois and half way across Indiana.
