Father Serra lead the establishment of the Franciscan missions in California. This statue was donated to the Mission San Diego by the William H. Hannon Foundation. The artist is Dale Smith. The same statue is found at several of the California Missions and the University of San Diego.

This statue is in Garden of Mission San Diego.
