Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) - Pacific Grove, California - This Old Church on Waymarking.com

Pacific Grove is a small town started in 1875 as a tent-city religious retreat for Methodists from the large cities to the north such as San Francisco. The godly atmosphere attracted settlers and believers of other Christian faiths, as well. In 1894 the women of Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) began to raise the $500 necessary to build this church sanctuary. The pews inside date to around 1900. A fellowship hall was added to the rear. A major restoration in 1974 returned the sanctuary to its Victorian origins, with new stained glass windows in an authentic Victorian style.
The church is not usually open for tours, but all are welcome to weekly services.
