Gothic Revival style building constructed of limestone in 1867. The present appearance dates to 1904. Designed by Frederick B. Scheetz. According to the NRHP Registration Form, this building has numerous details which define its form and style to be characteristically Gothic Revival, in particular the emphasis of vertical lines and height.
This Historic Church is open on special occasions and available for rent, according to the Monroe City website.

Currently there is a sign directing those seeking tours of the inside to inquire at City Hall.
