The town hall and corn exchange is the central building in Towcester and well visible as you drive along the A5 Watling Street. It was built by T.H. Vernon in 1865 and is an Italianate design. The most notable feature is the clock tower.

The foundation stone is located near the pavement at the north-western corner.
