Dedicated to Alfred East this gallery was built to house his collection of landscape paintings which he left to the town on his death. In 1913 J A Gotch designed the building and it was built in Weldon ashlar masonary producing a striking frontage.
There are just two rooms in the gallery and they are free to visit. There were a couple of pictures by Alfred East inside when we visited with sculpture and other artist's exhibits. The library adjoins the gallery.
