"For 66 years, the Troutdale Methodist Episcopal Church was the only church building in Troutdale. Erected in 1895 in the newly constructed town, it served first Methodist and then Presbyterian congregation, but was regarded as a community church. Its position on the hillside protected it from two fires that swept downtown Troutdale. Its early ministers were circuit riders. During the Depression, the congregation met in the basement, allowing two young men to build a biplane in the sanctuary. The church is on the National Register of Historic Place" - text of marker on site.
The church has been converted to a private home.
