DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 (JCM) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS-- THE STATION IS LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PALO ALTO NEAR THE WEST CITY LIMITS, ABOUT 3/8 MILE NORTHWEST OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD STATION, 1/10 MILE NORTHEAST OF THE EL CAMINO REAL, AND 100 YARDS NORTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF PALO ALTO AVENUE AND ALMA STREET. THE STATION IS A REDWOOD TREE ABOUT 7 FEET IN DIAMETER AT THE BASE AND 134 FEET HIGH THAT SETS ON THE SOUTHEAST BANK OF THE SAN FRANCISQUITO CREEK, ABOUT 33 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF THE STREAM, 24 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST RAIL OF A RAILROAD TRACK, AND 20 FEET NORTH OF THE EAST CORNER OF A STEEL RAILROAD BRIDGE."
