Translated, the name of this hotel means "Tower of Arabia".
It is an international icon and landmark readily associated with Dubai.
This icon of Dubai can be seen from most of Dubai, and stands on its own man made island 280km off shore,

Even though the official hotel rating system does not recognise more than 5 stars, their is little argument that the Burj Al Arab is the best hotel in the world (hence the self-proclaimed 7 stars).
The interior of the hotel is amazing, and this is the worlds only all suite hotel.
Each hotel room occupies two floors, with living space on the first floor and sleeping/grooming facilities on the second floor. Each of the 202 suite's also comes with a dedicated butler to cater to the guests needs.with a full staff of 1,500.A Fleet of 10 white Rolls Royces are at the disposable of the guests,it has its own helicopter pad.

1,600Sq m of 24carat gold leaf was used in the decorations..

This is also the tallest operating hotel building in the world.

Tiger Woods also spent some time on the helicopter landing pad hitting golf balls over the edge into the sea below. For playing in the Desert Open and hitting a few balls from the pad Tiger was paid 1 million dollars. That's guaranteed no matter whether he won or lost the game. So that's where your $28,000 dollars for a room goes...

Along with the publicity angle of a 7 star self-rating, the hotel hired tennis greats Andre Agassi and Roger Federer to play a practice game on the helipad before the Dubai Duty Free $1 Million Men’s Open.
