A glimpse of blue through the bush is all that is visible, but if you climb down the bank you'll see the remains of this old blue wrecked car. The carcass is rotting away in the dense bush beside a rough gravel road. There used to be a geocache here but it has been archived long ago due to the state of the access road. However a 4WD, mountainbike or just a good pair of legs will get you there easily enough.
The old car has a beautiful resting place, over the river and through beautiful native bush. Bikers ride past regularly as the 42 Traverse, one of New Zealand’s eminent mountain biking trails, finishes at the end of the road. The whole surrounding area is also hugely popular with trampers, hunters, off road runners and four wheel driving enthusiasts.
