Caboose #2490 is now on display in Gaithersburg MD. It was built in 1942 by the B&O railroad at an assembly yard in Keyser, WV. It was in service until December 1985. The "Wagontop" design was unique to the B&O RR and the bay windows allowed the crew a better view of the train.
The caboose is in run down condition but it stabilized. Plans are to exchange this caboose and other stock for cars more in keeping with the history of Gaithersburg.
