Last weekend when I stopped in before taking off on holidays they were just prepping the ball for operation. I came back from vacation last night and when I went to check in at work the ball was slowly spinning around.
Apparently the ball became operational last week. It is planted in the middle of a traffic roundabout in front of the building and hanger. The ball itself is about 3 1/2 ft in diameter, made of black marble and sits on a stone base. There is a moat around the base which is empty right now but will eventually be filled with water which will make the ball pretty much unreachable unless you want to wade.
The ball is emblazoned with a map of the world and WestJet's name on the side.
