R. Garland Dodd Park at Point of Rocks, opened in 1980, is a 188 acre park near the Appomattox River in Chester, VA. The park offers walking trails, picnic shelters, playground equipment, athletic fields, and historical markers. Construction of the floating boardwalk over Ashton Creek was completed in 2001. It was rebuilt in 2003 after being severely damaged by hurricane Isabel.
