Stametz Dam impounds the Sand Spring Run and is one of several dams on this creek. It is the prettiest with a small waterfall and a picturesque pond. The forest surrounding it is made up of hemlock, white pine and rhododendrons. It is along the Shades of Death trail, east of the park office.
