Built in 1965, Rialto Cleaners displays many characteristics of Googie Architecture - mostly found in the canopy roof.

The uplifted roof with exposed beams tapers towards the point of the triangular lot, but then an angular portion is cut out reminiscent of an arrow.

The building itself is of a flatiron design with red Chicago brick, but the north and east elevations (along busy IL Route 53/formally US Route 66) use mostly glass.
