This is one of many granite posts used to mark the "corner" points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the City of Beverly and the Town of Wenham. The letters "B" (for Beverly) and "W" (for Wenham) are painted on opposite sides. It is approximately eight inches square and three feet high.

To reach the marker, park at the entrance to the JC Phillips Nature Preserve on Cabot Street (Route 97). Follow the trail left after the entrance gate. The marker is off the trail about 12 feet on the left (west) side. There is a large oak tree at the side of the trail about 25 feet before you reach the marker.

The next adjacent mark heading east is Beverly-Wenham 5C , 1.0 mile.
The next adjacent mark heading west is Beverly-Danvers-Wenham, 1.1 miles.
