Located at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall on the University of Akron campus, the Clara I. Knight fountain is named for the mother of John S. Knight, a founder of Knight-Ridder Newspapers. The fountain pumps 3,000 gallons of water per minute and is one of the world’s largest fountains configured in the shape of a morning glory.
