This ferry is a reactive cable ferry, i.e. it has no engine of any kind but uses the power of the current to get across the river. It connects the Medieaval quarter of St. Alban with the North side of the Rhine.

It is a pedestrains ferry used by tourists and locals likewise.

It was established in 1894. Transfer costs 1.60 CHF for adults. Daily service, except for floods.
