Kalavryta is a beautiful small town in Achaia prefecture in north of the Peloponnesos peninsula. It is famous for its ski center, located just 15 km far from the town, and its old, byzantine monasteries, such as the Monastery of Agia Lavra and Mega Spileo. The surrounding area is also beautiful and provides great views to the mountains of the Peloponnese and the Vouraikos Gorge. Kalavryta is accessible by road and rail from Athens and Patras and the trip takes only for a few hours.
Nice place with great views over Kalavryta and surrounding mountain landscape you will find ca 1 km eastwards from the town centre at at western slopes Aroania Mts. ridge. Good idea for perfect afternoon hike!
