Fairmont is a two-story stuccoed stone dwelling located along the west side of Fairmont Avenue situated on a 2.3 acre track of land in the City of Winchester, Virginia.
Fairmont was constructed in 1809 by builder Lewis Barnett for Joseph Tidball, a local merchant. In 1929, the house was remoldeled in the Colonial Revival Style and also the construction of a garden and garage.
The present owner, Dr. and Mrs. W. Jackson Helm aquired the property in 1969. Dr. Helm is a retired physician in Winchester, and Mrs. Helm is a former Winchester mayor.
