Longsleddale parishioners placed a sandstone sundial to remember the fallen in the First Great War. Those who fought in the Second World War are added on the east face.

The war memorial is a sandstone pedestal for a small sundial, near the south porch of St Mary church. The churchyard is open to the public with a tarmac path to the south porch main door.
The east face reads.
"ALSO THOSE
WHO FELL
IN THE
SECOND
GREAT WAR
1939-1945"
and below the names of those who fell during WW2

On the square base are the names of the fallen, in WW1.

Description of Memorial: This is a small sandstone pillar only a meter high near the south porch of the church. It is on the grass area in the churchyard. Originally the pillar remembers the few from the valley who fell during the First Great War. The extra dedication was added after the second Great War. The sundial on the top was added in 1951.
