Each day the internees at Grizedale Hall POW camp exercise by walking along the valley road. The southern journey took them through Satterthwaite village, past the church in the film "The One That Got Away".

The POWs would walk under guard through the village which has not changed much in 50 years.
Plot synopsis. During 1940 a German pilot attempts to escape from Grizedale Hall. The book was published in 1956, film made in 1957 and Grizedale Hall pulled down shortly after.
