This station is a standard bench mark disk from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) located in the town of Peterborough, New Hampshire on Pack Monadnock Mountain in the Miller State Park. It is one of two disks under the old fire lookout tower. The disk has a lot of scratches and the stamping is unreadable, its designation is PACK MONADNOCK 2 USGS.
The station is not listed in the NGS datasheet, however it is listed in the NHDOT Geodetic Control database. You can access the datasheet using this provided web link further down. THE STATION IS LOCATED ON PACK MONADNOCK MOUNTAIN IN MILLER STATE PARK, IN PETERBOROUGH. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE ROUTE 101 AND U.S. ROUTE 202 EAST IN PETERBOROUGH, GO EAST FOR 3.7 MI. ON ROUTE 101 TO THE ENTRANCE TO MILLER STATE PARK ON THE LEFT, TURN LEFT AND GO NORTH FOR 1.4 MI (2.3 KM) ON THE PAVED ROAD TO THE SUMMIT OF THE MOUNTAIN AND THE STATION UNDER THE OLD FIRE TOWER. THE STATION IS A STANDARD USGS BENCH MARK DISK STAMPING UNREADABLE, SET IN THE TOP OF THE ROCK LEDGE OUTCROP IN THE CENTER OF A CIRCULAR PAVED PARKING LOT AND UNDER THE OLD FIRE TOWER. LOCATED 1.5 FT (0.5 M) NORTH FROM THE NORTH FACE OF THE BUILDING, 3.1 FT (0.9 M) EAST FROM THE SOUTHWEST LEG OF THE TOWER, 8.0 FT (2.4 M) WEST FROM THE SOUTHEAST LEG OF THE TOWER, 3.7 FT (1.1 M) SOUTH FROM NHDOT DISK 363-0280. DISK RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION BY NHDOT GEODETIC SURVEY ON 10-2-98.
