This T-33A is on display along Main Street in Othello, Washington at Pioneer Park. The plaque at the display states:
“The T-33A was the first jet trainer the U.S. Air Force had. This air craft was donated by the U.S. Air Force and the Washington Air National Guard. It once flew over the Columbia Basin and was under the guidance of the 637th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, 25th Air Division and the North American Air Defense Command Network. The radar station was located 7 miles south of Othello on “Radar Hill.”
The Squadron was formed in May 1947 at Larson A.F.B. and moved to Othello in Sept. 1951. The base was decommissioned and closed in March 1974.”
